AFTIP 2024: Celebrating Innovation and Recognizing Excellence

The inaugural Agri-Food Tech Incubation Programme (AFTIP) has officially concluded, and what a journey it has been!

The program, planned in partnership with Republic Polytechnic, was designed to nurture agri-food tech innovation through workshops, mentorship, and real-world pitching opportunities. AFTIP provided participants with tools to address global challenges in sustainability and food security.

Journey Highlights

Stage 1 (Equip): Participants gained essential skills through workshops on topics like market fit, IP protection, pricing strategies, and pitching. Highlights included visits to Innovate 360 and insights from Google’s agri-food tech team.

Stage 2 (Engage): The focus shifted to mentorship, pitch rounds, and regional learning journeys, including a visit to Da Nang, Vietnam, to explore the local agri-food ecosystem.

Stage 3 (Evaluate): Five finalists emerged after a rigorous evaluation process. The Demo Day held at AFTEA showcased their innovations to distinguished judges and industry leaders.

Stage 4 (Empower): The top startups now embark on their growth journeys with post-program progression pathways, including grants and Vidacity’s extended support.

Agri-Food Tech Demo Day 2024

The Agri-Food Tech Demo Day 2024 is a key event that will spotlight the most innovative minds in the agri-food tech space. Held during the Agri-Food Tech Expo Asia (AFTEA), as part of the Singapore International Agri-Food Week (SIAW), this event offers an exciting opportunity to witness the brightest startups pitch their groundbreaking ideas to a distinguished panel of judges.

42 participants began the journey, and after months of hard work and dedication, 10 outstanding startups emerged, with 5 finalists selected to pitch their ideas at Demo Day.

And the Winners Are…

After a thorough evaluation, here are the startups that took home the top honors:

Data Yoo impressed the judges with their cutting-edge precision agriculture platform, FarmiSpace, which leverages AI and satellite technology to optimize crop monitoring. Their work in increasing yields and supporting climate resilience made them the standout winner.

Top 10 Startups:

  • DATAYOO APPLICATION CO., LTD. (Champion): AI-powered precision agriculture for optimized crop yields.
  • Coa & Co (Runner-Up): Healthful chocolate innovation.
  • ImpacFat (Runner-Up): Sustainable, customizable cell-based fish fat.
  • Cuprina Pollination Services : Nature-based insect pollination for controlled environments.
  • KleenSoil Environmental Technologies l: Sustainable soil remediation technologies.
  • Postbiotix: Plant-based postbiotics for functional food.
  • the moonbeam co.: Tackling food waste to enhance food security.
  • Red Dot Drone : Customized drone software for safer operations.
  • SUS: Sustainable beverages from rejected fruits.
  • Niyog Global: Coconut-based, animal-free dairy replacements focusing on taste, texture, and environmental sustainability.

The Winners and Their Prizes


After careful evaluations, the top 3 startups were awarded prizes designed to help them scale their businesses:

  • Datayoo took home the S$30,000 Startup SG Founder Grant from Enterprise SG, providing crucial financial support to help them take their business to the next level. Vidacity awarded them with a Greenhouse (15x5m), Setup and Prototyping Fees worth SGD 1,000, and 6 months of support, including private office space, lab access, and market access support in Singapore, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
  • Coa & Co and ImpacFat were awarded similar support packages, including prototyping and market access, to assist in further developing and scaling their innovations.
